Senate HELP Committee approves six Trump administration nominees

Today, the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee voted to approve six nominees of President Trump for various departments. The vote was led by HELP Chairman Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA). Under his leadership, the committee has advanced 28 nominees from the Trump administration.

“These nominees are vital to advancing President Trump’s pro-worker, pro-family, pro-patient agenda,” said Dr. Cassidy. “As Chairman of the HELP Committee, I am committed to getting President Trump’s team in place as quickly as possible.”

The nominees were approved with a party-line vote of 12-11 and will now proceed to the Senate floor for a final vote at a later date.

The nominations include:

- David Castillo as Chief Financial Officer at the Department of Labor

- Brian Christine as Assistant Secretary for Health at the Department of Health and Human Services

- Brittany Panuccio as a Member of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission

- Jonathan Snare as a Member of the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission

- David Barker as Assistant Secretary for Postsecondary Education at the Department of Education

- Mary Christina Riley as Assistant Secretary for Legislative and Congressional Affairs at the Department of Education
