The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania has announced that Jeffrey Snyder, a 47-year-old resident of Middleburg, has been sentenced to 188 months in prison. Chief United States District Judge Matthew W. Brann handed down the sentence for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
Acting United States Attorney John Gurganus stated that Snyder led Pennsylvania State Police officers on a high-speed chase reaching 90 miles per hour through Union and Snyder counties on April 8, 2024. Upon his arrest, authorities found approximately 376 grams of methamphetamine, $1,390.40 in cash, a stolen vehicle, and a loaded stolen revolver in his possession. Snyder had previously pleaded guilty on March 6, 2025.
This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), an initiative that unites law enforcement at all levels with communities to reduce violent crime and gun violence. The Department launched a strategy on May 26, 2021, to strengthen PSN by fostering trust in communities, supporting organizations that prevent violence, setting strategic enforcement priorities, and measuring results.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted the investigation into this case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Robin Zenzinger prosecuted the case.
