FGI supports EPA's shift away from previous climate policies

The Functional Government Initiative (FGI) has expressed approval of recent actions by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to address what it describes as "climate dysfunction." According to FGI, a 2009 Endangerment Finding by the EPA led to significant spending on climate change initiatives, which they argue were excessive.

Roderick Law, a spokesman for FGI, said: "The 2009 Endangerment Finding empowered years of climate alarmism starting the Obama administration and accelerating under the Biden administration. It resulted in hundreds of billions of wasteful spending in the name of climate change, lining the pockets of environmentalist special interest groups and the green climate industry."

Law further criticized the Biden administration's approach: "With the Biden administration’s ‘whole of government’ approach to the alarmism, it diverted attention from the statutory missions across the government. FGI applauds the new direction to end the radical policies and allow agencies to focus on their core missions."

FGI's report suggests that recent policy changes may redirect focus back to fundamental governmental responsibilities.
