Former NBA player Gilbert Arenas was arrested on July 30 along with five others, including an alleged high-ranking member of an Israeli organized crime group. The arrests followed a federal indictment accusing the group of running illegal gambling operations that hosted high-stakes poker games at Arenas’ Encino mansion.
Arenas, who is 43 and also known as “Agent Zero,” resides in Woodland Hills. He faces charges of conspiracy to operate an illegal gambling business, operating an illegal gambling business, and making false statements to federal investigators.
He is expected to appear for arraignment and his initial court appearance this afternoon at the United States District Court in downtown Los Angeles.
