Tymarious Nydarious Thompson, a 24-year-old resident of Lancaster, South Carolina, has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for his role in a drug distribution conspiracy. Thompson was convicted of conspiring with Mikel Stewart and others to distribute more than 500 grams of methamphetamine, as well as quantities of cocaine and marijuana.
Investigators searching Thompson's home in 2019 discovered seven pounds of marijuana, a sawed-off shotgun, a handgun, ammunition, and counterfeit currency. Law enforcement also made multiple purchases of pure ice methamphetamine from Thompson during the investigation. A later search in 2020 resulted in the seizure of over 198 grams of pure ice methamphetamine, marijuana, crack cocaine, another firearm, and more than $4,000. Despite these findings, authorities say Thompson continued selling methamphetamine to an undercover agent.
United States District Judge Mary Geiger Lewis imposed a sentence of 180 months imprisonment on Thompson. After serving his sentence, he will be subject to five years of supervised release. Federal law does not allow for parole.
The investigation involved Homeland Security Investigations, the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, the Lancaster Police Department, and the York County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney William K. Witherspoon is prosecuting the case.
“There is no parole in the federal system,” according to court officials.
