ICE arrests individuals convicted of violent crimes; DHS urges public to join agency

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced on August 5, 2025, the arrest of several individuals described as violent criminal illegal aliens. According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), those arrested include people convicted of crimes such as homicide, assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault of a child, sexual assault of a child, statutory rape, and rape.

The DHS has issued a call for Americans to consider joining ICE to assist in removing individuals convicted of serious crimes from communities across the country. Information about applying is available at join.ice.gov.

Assistant Secretary McLaughlin stated: “Murderers. Pedophiles. Rapists. These are the dirtbags ICE is arresting and removing from our country. We are delivering on President Trump’s promise to remove the worst of the worst. Serve your country today by signing up to join ICE and help us get these dirtbags out of our country.”

Among those arrested were Israel Cobian-Sandoval from Mexico, convicted of homicide in Chicago, Illinois; Rey Bautista-Osorio from Mexico, convicted of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or cause serious injury in Wilson County, North Carolina; Edgar Allan Becerril from Mexico, convicted on six counts including aggravated assault and sexual assault of a child in Guadalupe County, Texas; Kevin Sosa-Ayala from Honduras, convicted of statutory rape in Sumner County, Tennessee; and Simon Torres-De Leon from Mexico, convicted of rape in Franklin County, Ohio.

The DHS continues its recruitment effort for law enforcement personnel interested in supporting ICE’s mission.
