Jacob Buckley, a 22-year-old resident of Port Matilda in Centre County, Pennsylvania, has been charged by criminal information for making threats against then President-elect Donald J. Trump. The charges were announced by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.

Acting United States Attorney John Gurganus stated that Buckley allegedly used a TikTok account under the name “Jacob_buckley” to post threatening messages on January 16, 2025. According to the information filed, Buckley posted: “I hate MAGA republicans bro on god I’ll kill all of them”; “I’m going to kill Trump”; and, “Bro we going into a literal oligarchy in 4 days and im going to kill Trump.”

The investigation was conducted by the United States Secret Service. Assistant United States Attorney K. Wesley Mishoe is prosecuting the case.

If convicted, Buckley faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison, supervised release after imprisonment, a fine, and a special assessment. Sentencing would be determined by the court based on federal statutes and sentencing guidelines.

It was emphasized that criminal informations are only allegations and that all individuals charged are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
