A Honduran national, Jose Denis Guardado-Paz, has been sentenced for illegally reentering the United States after previously being deported. On August 4, 2025, U.S. District Court Judge Brian E. Murphy sentenced Guardado-Paz, 40, to time served—approximately 43 days in prison. Following his sentence, Guardado-Paz is now subject to deportation proceedings.
Guardado-Paz pleaded guilty earlier in the hearing to one count of unlawful reentry of a deported alien. He was arrested on May 5, 2025 and indicted by a federal grand jury in June 2025.
Guardado-Paz had last been deported from the United States on October 18, 2019. Authorities stated that he reentered the country without permission sometime after his removal in October 2019.
