U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers conducted arrests on August 7, 2025, targeting individuals described as criminal illegal aliens convicted of serious crimes such as assault, child sex offenses, larceny, and burglary.

Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin stated, “Just yesterday, ICE arrested rapists, thieves, and other violent offenders. These are the scumbags our law enforcement are arresting and getting out of our country every single day. We are calling on patriotic Americans to apply TODAY to join ICE and help us arrest terrorists, gang members, rapists, murderers, and child predators. JOIN.ICE.GOV.”

Among those arrested were Gorje Patricio Palaguachi-Mayansela from Ecuador, who was convicted of gang assault in Queens, New York and re-entry of an aggravated felon in Tucson, Arizona; Md Mobarak Hossain from Bangladesh for sex crimes including sexual abuse in the first degree involving a minor under 11 years old and endangering the welfare of a child in Queens; Perla Salais-Solis from Mexico for non-residential burglary and unlawful taking of a motor vehicle in Alamogordo, New Mexico; Daniel Arevalo-Hernandez from El Salvador for felony larceny as well as possession of a stolen vehicle and breaking and entering in Wake County, North Carolina; and Jose Antonio Banda-Banda from Mexico for indecency with a child and child fondling in Harris County, Texas.

The Department of Homeland Security is encouraging Americans interested in public safety or national service to consider joining ICE to assist with removing individuals convicted of these types of offenses.
