Buffalo man sentenced to 20 years for selling fentanyl linked to fatal overdoses

Davon Mitchell, a 35-year-old resident of Buffalo, was sentenced on July 28 to 20 years in prison after admitting to distributing fentanyl that led to the overdose deaths of two people and caused a non-fatal overdose in another individual on three separate occasions.

Mitchell was convicted of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and to distribute fentanyl, as well as possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking crimes. The investigation leading to his conviction was conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
