ICE arrests registered sex offender from Portugal convicted of child abuse

ICE Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) New England has arrested Dennis Costa, a 66-year-old lawful permanent resident and registered sex offender, at his home in Fall River. According to authorities, Costa is a native and citizen of Portugal.

Costa was convicted on November 25, 1991, for rape and abuse of a child as well as indecent assault and battery on a child under the age of 14. He received a sentence of 10 years in prison and was required to register as a sex offender in Massachusetts.

Records indicate that Costa entered the United States as a lawful permanent resident around January 26, 1969. Following his recent arrest on July 29, he will remain in ICE custody while awaiting a hearing before an immigration judge.
