The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has expressed concerns over the implementation of new tariffs, which they believe could lead to increased costs for consumers and businesses. Neil Bradley, Executive Vice President and Chief Policy Officer, said that local chambers across the nation are advocating for lower prices and economic growth.
Bradley emphasized support for the Administration's investment goals in the United States but warned about potential price hikes due to unprecedented tariff levels. He noted that these tariffs could make living expenses higher and complicate supply chains.
The Chamber aims to collaborate with the Administration to address growth barriers such as a "broken permitting process, labor constraints, and energy shortages." They also plan to request a tariff exemption process for small businesses. According to a recent report by the U.S. Chamber, small businesses might face an additional $200 billion tax increase because of these tariffs.
