A federal grand jury has indicted Ranfli Felix Garcia Brito, a 36-year-old Dominican national living unlawfully in Worcester, on one count of dealing in firearms without a license. Garcia Brito was previously charged by criminal complaint on July 17, 2025, and is currently in custody.
According to charging documents, law enforcement identified Garcia Brito as a firearms trafficker in April 2025. Authorities allege that on April 11, he sold an AR-15 style rifle and high-capacity magazines to a cooperating individual at the parking lot of a Walmart Supercenter in Worcester. During this meeting, Garcia Brito allegedly provided his phone number for future transactions. On April 16, he reportedly met the same individual again at the same location and sold another AR-15 style rifle with a magazine loaded with 28 rounds of ammunition.
Investigators claim that over the following months, Garcia Brito met with the same person five more times at the same parking lot, selling more than a dozen firearms along with large-capacity magazines, ammunition, a silencer, and a laser attachment. In total, it is alleged that he sold over 20 firearms across seven occasions between April 11 and July 10, 2025.
If convicted of dealing in firearms without a license, Garcia Brito faces up to five years in prison, up to three years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000. He would also be subject to deportation after serving any sentence imposed. Sentencing decisions will be made by a federal district court judge based on U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and relevant statutes.
The announcement was made by United States Attorney Leah B. Foley; Bryan DiGirolamo, Acting Special Agent in Charge of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ Boston Field Division; and Paul Saucier, Police Chief of the Worcester Police Department. The Drug Enforcement Administration and police departments from Franklin, Mansfield and Auburn assisted with the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Kaitlin J. Brown from the Worcester Branch Office is prosecuting the case.
This prosecution falls under Operation Take Back America—a nationwide initiative led by the Department of Justice that focuses resources from its Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN) programs to combat illegal immigration-related crime and transnational criminal organizations.
Authorities emphasize that all details are allegations at this stage; Garcia Brito is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt in court.
