Antoine Depray Jackson, 54, from Charlotte, has been sentenced to 12 years in prison followed by three years of supervised release for drug and firearm offenses. The sentencing was announced by Russ Ferguson, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina.
A joint announcement was made by Alicia Jones, Special Agent in Charge of the ATF Charlotte Field Division; Jae W. Chung, Acting Special Agent in Charge of the Atlanta Field Division of the DEA (which oversees the Charlotte District Office); and Sheriff Donald G. Brown II of the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office alongside U.S. Attorney Ferguson.
According to court records, law enforcement began investigating Jackson after he was identified as a distributor of illegal drugs in Mecklenburg, Lincoln, and Catawba counties. On October 4, 2023, authorities executed a federal search warrant at his home where they found quantities of cocaine base and a loaded KAHR Arms model CT-45 pistol. Jackson had prior criminal convictions that barred him from possessing firearms.
Jackson pleaded guilty on February 7, 2025 to possession with intent to distribute cocaine and possession of a firearm by a felon. He is currently in federal custody and will be transferred to the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
“In making today’s announcement,” said U.S. Attorney Ferguson, “U.S. Attorney Ferguson thanked the ATF, the DEA, and the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office for their investigation of the case.”
Special Assistant U.S. Attorney William Wiseman prosecuted this case. Wiseman is a state prosecutor assigned as SAUSA with the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Charlotte through an appointment by District Attorney Spencer Merriweather. Wiseman is authorized to practice in both state and federal courts; his position highlights ongoing collaboration between local district attorneys and federal prosecutors.
