Elliot Louis Hammond Sterling, Jr. was reported missing from the satellite camp adjacent to the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Oakdale II in Oakdale, Louisiana, on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at around 10:15 p.m. Sterling is described as a 37-year-old Black male with black hair and brown eyes. He stands 6 feet tall and weighs approximately 160 pounds.
Following his disappearance, the United States Marshals Service, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and other law enforcement agencies were alerted. An internal investigation has been launched to determine the circumstances surrounding his absence.
Sterling was serving a 132-month sentence for wire fraud, financial aid fraud, and engaging in monetary transactions in property derived from specified unlawful activity. His sentence was handed down in the Middle District of Louisiana.
