Jamestown man pleads guilty to federal child pornography charge

A Jamestown man has pleaded guilty to federal child pornography charges. U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced that Timothy Douglas, 65, admitted to possession of child pornography before U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara.

Douglas faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison and could receive up to 20 years, along with a fine of $250,000.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Maeve E. Huggins stated that in August 2023, Douglas knowingly possessed a cellphone containing images of child pornography depicting prepubescent minors or children under the age of 12. Between July 2022 and August 2023, Douglas produced images involving three minor children engaged in sexually explicit conduct; one was five years old and the other two were approximately ten years old. Some of these images were described as sadistic in nature.

In 2003, Douglas was convicted in New York State for possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child less than sixteen years old, sexual abuse in the first degree, and course of sexual conduct against a child in the second degree.

The investigation was conducted by the Jamestown Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation Child Exploitation Human Trafficking Task Force.

Sentencing is scheduled for November 25, 2025, before Judge Arcara.
