Whiteside County man receives over eight years for methamphetamine distribution

A man from Rock Falls, Illinois, has been sentenced to more than eight years in federal prison after pleading guilty to distributing methamphetamine. Thomas Dugger, 55, admitted to selling 55.7 grams of methamphetamine in July 2021.

U.S. District Judge Iain D. Johnston handed down a 100-month sentence on Wednesday during a hearing at the federal court in Rockford.

Andrew S. Boutros, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois, and Shane R. Catone, Special Agent-in-Charge of the Chicago Field Division of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, announced the sentence. Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert S. Ladd represented the government in this case.

"Duggar admitted in a plea agreement that in July 2021 he sold 55.7 grams of methamphetamine."

The case highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement to address drug distribution offenses within northern Illinois communities.
