Brandon Washington, also known as B Mack, has pleaded guilty to federal drug and gun charges in Rochester, New York. U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced the plea before U.S. District Judge Frank P. Geraci, Jr. Washington admitted to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute, and to distribute, 100 kilograms or more of marijuana, as well as possession of firearms in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. The offenses carry a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison and could result in up to life imprisonment and an $8 million fine.
According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Douglas E. Gregory, from May 2021 through July 21, 2022, Washington managed marijuana distribution operations at multiple locations in Rochester. He oversaw supply lines for drug houses on St. Paul and Sixth Street and stored marijuana at two residences on Laser Street. The operation involved arming the distribution sites with firearms and employing individuals to deliver and sell marijuana.
Authorities executed several search warrants during July 2022 at properties connected to the operation. At the St. Paul Street location, police seized marijuana, scales, ledgers, and $8,254 in cash. Further searches at the Sixth Street residence resulted in the recovery of more marijuana, about $13,390 in cash, and four firearms. On July 21, officers searched a Laser Street stash house where they found large amounts of packaged marijuana for sale along with five firearms; another Laser Street address linked to Washington yielded additional marijuana and over 100 rounds of ammunition. As a convicted felon, Washington was prohibited from possessing ammunition.
Gun traces from weapons seized during these searches connected members of the conspiracy to several shootings that occurred in Rochester during summer 2022.
The investigation into Washington’s activities arose following the murder of Rochester Police Department Investigator Anthony Mazurkewicz and the assault on Investigator Sino Seng on July 21, 2022; Mazurkewicz died from his injuries sustained while on duty. Kelvin Vickers—a co-conspirator—was convicted for Mazurkewicz’s murder and sentenced to life imprisonment.
Investigators also looked into a double homicide that happened on July 20, 2021—resulting in the deaths of Richard Collinge and Myjel Rand—which was linked back to this group. Co-conspirators Kelvin Vickers, Deadrick Fulwiley, and Raheim Robinson were convicted for those murders; Vickers and Robinson received life sentences while Fulwiley was sentenced to thirty years.
The case was investigated by the Rochester Police Department under Chief David Smith; Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives led by Special Agent-in-Charge Bryan Miller; and Drug Enforcement Administration headed by Special Agent-in-Charge Frank A. Tarentino III.
Sentencing for Brandon Washington is set for December 18, 2025 before Judge Geraci.
