A federal grand jury has indicted Aleksandr Golovchenko, 49, of Oregon, on charges related to the production of child sexual abuse material and coercion and enticement of a minor. The indictment was announced by United States Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe in Tampa, Florida.
According to court documents, Golovchenko is accused of initiating an online relationship with a 12-year-old girl around February 2025. Between February and April 2025, he allegedly persuaded and coerced the minor to engage in sexual activity using Snapchat. He is also charged with producing visual depictions of sexually explicit conduct involving the victim.
The indictment includes three counts of production of child sexual abuse material and two counts of coercion and enticement of a minor to engage in sexual activity. If convicted on all counts, Golovchenko faces up to life in federal prison.
"An indictment is merely a formal charge that a defendant has committed one or more violations of federal criminal law, and every defendant is presumed innocent unless, and until, proven guilty."
The Federal Bureau of Investigation led the investigation into this case. Assistant United States Attorney Courtney Derry will prosecute.
This prosecution falls under Project Safe Childhood, an initiative started by the Department of Justice in May 2006 aimed at addressing child sexual exploitation through coordination among federal, state, and local agencies.
