Broken Arrow man sentenced for failing to register as sex offender

Dale Lynn Taylor, a 60-year-old resident of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, has been sentenced to 30 months in prison and 10 years of supervised release for failing to register as a sex offender. The sentencing was announced by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.

Taylor previously pleaded guilty on March 19, 2025. Authorities said he had been convicted of Rape-Second Degree in Oklahoma on May 28, 2014. As a result of that conviction, he was required to register as a sex offender. Investigators determined that from April 2, 2019, until July 8, 2024, Taylor did not comply with registration requirements while entering, leaving, or residing in Indian country within the Eastern District of Oklahoma.

The case was investigated by the U.S. Marshals Service Violent Crime Fugitive Task Force.

“The Honorable John F. Heil, III, U.S. District Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, presided over the hearing,” according to the announcement. “Taylor will remain in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service pending transportation to a designated United States Bureau of Prisons facility to serve a non-paroleable sentence of incarceration.”

Assistant U.S. Attorney Dak T. Cohen prosecuted the case.
