U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has reported the arrest of several individuals described as criminal illegal aliens who have been convicted of violent crimes in different parts of the country. The announcement was made from Washington, D.C., and highlights recent enforcement actions taken under the direction of President Trump and Secretary Noem.
A Senior Department of Homeland Security (DHS) official stated, “On day one, President Trump unleashed ICE law enforcement to go after depraved criminals who are terrorizing American communities. In just one day, ICE officers across the U.S. nabbed illegal aliens with convictions for sexual assault with a child, sodomy, vehicle theft, and more barbaric crimes. While sanctuary politicians and the media were peddling a FALSE sob story of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, our brave ICE law enforcement was arresting the worst of the worst.”
According to ICE, these operations targeted individuals across several states including Texas, New York, California, and New Jersey. The agency provided examples such as Arturo Lopez-Ramirez from Mexico convicted of sodomy by force in Alameda County, California; Julio-Cesar Lopez-Rivera from Mexico convicted of injury to a child in Dallas County, Texas; Edgar Stiven Rivera-Villanueva from Honduras convicted of attempted gang assault in Queens, New York; Salvador Hernandez-Aguilar from Mexico convicted on two counts of vehicle theft and resisting arrest in Middlesex County, New Jersey; and Darlin Josue Martinez-Espinoza from Honduras convicted on charges including aggravated sexual assault with a child in Austin, Texas.
ICE stated that it continues to focus its efforts on removing individuals it considers to be among the most serious offenders. The agency emphasized that each arrest is part of its mission to protect public safety.
