A Dallas man has pleaded guilty to charges related to a carjacking and high-speed chase in the Deep Ellum area of Dallas. Travion Amar Williams, 22, appeared before United States Magistrate Judge David Horan on August 26, 2025, where he entered a guilty plea to one count of carjacking and one count of brandishing a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence. The announcement was made by Acting United States Attorney for the Northern District of Texas Nancy E. Larson.
During the hearing, Williams admitted that on December 6, 2023, two individuals were walking to a parked 2020 Chevrolet Corvette when Williams and two coconspirators—wearing masks—were waiting nearby in another vehicle. As the victims approached their car, Williams and another armed coconspirator confronted them with handguns. They forcibly took the key to the Corvette along with a bracelet, cell phone, and wallet from the victims.
Williams and his accomplice then drove away in the stolen Corvette. Police pursued them in a high-speed chase until Williams and his coconspirator abandoned the vehicle under a bridge overpass. The suspects fled on foot into an industrial park after jumping a fence. While escaping from police officers, Williams dropped a Glock Model 19 Gen 5 pistol that he had used during the incident. He was subsequently apprehended.
Sentencing for Williams is set for January 14, 2026.
The case was investigated by the Dallas Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
