Jon Robert Donohue, a 32-year-old resident of Pittston, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced to 120 months in prison for drug trafficking and firearms offenses. The sentence was handed down on August 27, 2025, by Senior United States District Judge Robert D. Mariani. Donohue will also serve four years of supervised release following his imprisonment.
Acting United States Attorney John C. Gurganus stated that on May 9, 2022, Donohue was under house arrest in Luzerne County when probation officers received information about his involvement in drug trafficking and illegal firearm possession. A search of Donohue's residence led to the seizure of hundreds of rounds of ammunition, seven firearms—including a stolen one—drug paraphernalia, as well as significant quantities of controlled substances: 593 grams of methamphetamine, 782 grams of cocaine, 72 grams of MDMA, and 1.3 kilograms of marijuana. Due to his prior criminal record, Donohue was prohibited from possessing firearms.
The investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the Luzerne County Drug Task Force, and the Luzerne County Adult Probation and Parole Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jenny P. Roberts prosecuted the case.
