U.S. extends congratulations on Kyrgyz Republic Independence Day

On August 31, the United States will mark Kyrgyz Independence Day by extending well wishes to the people of the Kyrgyz Republic.

"For 34 years, the United States has supported the Kyrgyz Republic’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independence. In recent years, our countries have expanded people-to-people ties and improved economic and security cooperation. We are proud of the partnerships we have established with the Kyrgyz Republic and the warm relations between our peoples."

The United States has had diplomatic relations with Kyrgyzstan since its independence in 1991. The relationship includes support for sovereignty as well as efforts to build economic and security partnerships.
