Ice Cream Factory, based in Mount Vernon, New York, has issued a recall for specific lots of its Vanilla G.Nutt ice cream due to the presence of undeclared almond. The affected products include 40 pints, 8 quarts, and 3 half gallons distributed at Golden Krust retail stores in Mount Vernon and White Plains as well as Farm Country Supermarket in Queens.

The recalled Vanilla G.Nutt ice cream is packaged in plastic pints and half gallons or white paper-coated quart containers. The UPC codes are 8 56781 00361 3 for pints, 8 56781 00362 0 for quarts, and 8 56781 00363 7 for half gallons. All have an expiration date of March 2027 printed on the back label.

According to the company, “People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to tree nuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.”

No illnesses have been reported related to this issue. Ice Cream Factory stated that “the recall was initiated after an undeclared allergen was discovered. Subsequent investigation indicates the problem was caused by a temporary breakdown in the company's production and packaging processes.”

Customers who purchased Vanilla G.Nutt ice cream from any of the listed locations are encouraged to return it for a full refund or exchange it for another flavor. For further questions, consumers can contact Rudy Guerrino at (914) 441-9598 during business hours Monday through Friday.
