Hugo residents sentenced for transporting stolen goods from Oklahoma to Texas

Matthew Carl Wilson and Candice Marie Logan, both residents of Hugo, Oklahoma, have been sentenced in federal court for transporting stolen goods across state lines. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that Wilson, 38, received a sentence of 30 months in prison and was ordered to pay $285,749.45 in restitution after pleading guilty on April 3, 2025. Logan, 35, pleaded guilty on April 15, 2025 and was sentenced to eight months in prison with a restitution order of $45,067.00.

The investigation into the case involved the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Choctaw County Sheriff’s Department, and the Paris, Texas Police Department. Authorities reported that on January 16, 2024, Wilson and Logan knowingly transported stolen industrial radio equipment from Hugo to Paris.

Chief U.S. District Judge Ronald A. White presided over the sentencing hearings at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. Both defendants will remain in custody under the U.S. Marshals Service until they are transferred to a facility operated by the United States Bureau of Prisons to serve their sentences without parole.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Jacob R. Parker prosecuted the case.
