A Honduran citizen, Marvin Wilton Max Ayala, has been sentenced to 27 months in federal prison for illegally reentering the United States after having been previously removed multiple times. The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge Jacqueline Becerra and will be followed by three years of supervised release.
Court records indicate that Max Ayala, age 36, unlawfully entered the country for the fifth time. He was discovered by law enforcement on April 1 following an arrest for cocaine possession. Max Ayala had previously been deported from the United States on four occasions: November 21, 2012; April 6, 2015; May 4, 2020; and August 5, 2021. During his prior stays in the U.S., he was convicted of additional crimes, including an attempted forgery offense in Texas in 2021.
Upon completion of his prison term, Max Ayala is scheduled to be removed from the United States once again.
