Parampreet Singh, a 59-year-old resident of Davis, pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute cocaine, heroin, opium, and ketamine. The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Eric Grant.
Court documents state that Singh acted as the leader and organizer of a drug trafficking operation that involved his co-defendants Amandeep Multani, 37, of Roseville, and Ranvir Singh, 42, of Sacramento. The group coordinated drug deals from California using encrypted cellphone applications. The drugs were distributed in Canada and Sacramento between October 2020 and April 2021.
Authorities reported that the conspiracy included sales to undercover officers totaling approximately 10 kilograms of cocaine, 1.5 kilograms of opium, 2 kilograms of ketamine, and multiple samples of heroin. The total value for these transactions was $637,600 in Canadian dollars and $75,190 in U.S. dollars.
As part of his plea agreement, Parampreet Singh agreed to forfeit $2 million to the United States.
The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration with support from Homeland Security Investigations, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, York Regional Police in Canada, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and the Placer County Special Investigations Unit. Assistant U.S. Attorneys David W. Spencer and Haddy Abouzeid are prosecuting.
Multani pleaded guilty on December 13, 2022; his sentencing is scheduled for November 18, 2025. Ranvir Singh’s jury trial is set for October 6, 2025; he remains presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
Parampreet Singh will be sentenced by Senior U.S. District Judge John A. Mendez on January 27, 2026. He faces a maximum penalty of life in prison and a $10 million fine; however, the final sentence will be determined by the court based on statutory factors and federal Sentencing Guidelines.
