U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at McAllen International Airport apprehended a 52-year-old male Mexican national who is a lawful permanent resident of the United States. The individual was wanted on an outstanding warrant for indecent assault and indecent exposure.
According to CBP, the man arrived from Mexico City on a commercial flight on September 9. Officers identified him as a possible match to an arrest warrant during routine screening procedures. After moving him to secondary inspection, CBP officers used biometric verification to confirm his identity and the active warrant issued by the Starr County Sheriff’s Office.
Port Director Carlos Rodriguez of the Hidalgo Port of Entry stated, “CBP screens all travelers entering the United States. When we encounter persons with outstanding warrants, we are committed to bringing in those individuals to face their criminal charges.”
The man has been wanted since May 2025 and faces two counts of indecent assault and one count of indecent exposure, both classified as Class-A misdemeanors under Texas law. A Hidalgo police officer took custody of the individual and transported him to Hidalgo County jail, where he awaits extradition to Starr County.
CBP placed an immigration detainer on the subject to ensure he will appear for an immigration court hearing and removal proceedings after state charges are resolved.
Criminal charges remain allegations until proven in court; defendants are presumed innocent unless found guilty.
