Bradley D. Knapp, a 46-year-old resident of Jamestown, New York, has been sentenced to 97 months in prison for his role in a drug trafficking conspiracy involving heroin, fentanyl, and methamphetamine. The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara.
According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Joshua A. Violanti, Knapp engaged in buying and selling the drugs both for profit and personal use. He used Facebook as a platform for his drug trafficking activities and operated out of a residence on West 9th Street in Jamestown to manufacture, package, and distribute illegal substances.
On August 12, 2020, Knapp sold about one gram of heroin/fentanyl to an individual identified as M.H. The following day, M.H. consumed approximately half a gram of the substance, overdosed, and stopped breathing but was revived after receiving multiple doses of Narcan.
"This effort is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation. OCDETF identifies, disrupts, and dismantles the highest-level criminal organizations that threaten the United States using a prosecutor-led, intelligence-driven, multi-agency approach," according to information from the U.S. Attorney's Office. More details about OCDETF are available at https://www.justice.gov/OCDETF.
The investigation leading to Knapp’s sentencing involved cooperation between the Jamestown Police Department under Chief Timothy Jackson; the Drug Enforcement Administration led by Special Agent-in-Charge Frank A. Tarentino III of the New York Field Division; and the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office under Sheriff James Quattrone.
