The Subcommittee on Delivering on Government Efficiency, chaired by Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), has scheduled a hearing to discuss weather control and geoengineering activities. The session, titled “Playing God with the Weather — a Disastrous Forecast,” will take place on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. EST in HVC-210 of the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center.
The hearing aims to address the federal government’s involvement in weather modification and geoengineering efforts, as well as examine possible unintended consequences. Ethical and legal questions related to these technologies will also be considered.
“Geoengineering activity and weather control are often poorly understood and can lead to potentially dangerous consequences. The Trump administration’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently shed light on geoengineering activity, and I introduced the Clear Skies Act to prohibit geoengineering and weather modification. I look forward to hearing from experts about the state of weather and climate control technology and ways to maximize transparency and accountability,” said Subcommittee Chairwoman Greene.
Witnesses scheduled for the hearing include Dr. Roger Pielke Jr., Senior Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, and Mr. Christopher Martz, Meteorologist/Policy Analyst at the Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow. The event is open to the public and will be livestreamed.
