The American Hospital Association (AHA) has outlined its health care priorities for Congress to address before the end of the year. In comments submitted on September 15, the AHA called on House and Senate leaders from both parties to take action on several pressing issues.

The organization emphasized the need to prevent reductions in Medicaid Disproportionate Share Hospital Payments, which are scheduled to begin on October 1. Additionally, the AHA urged lawmakers to continue support for Medicare-dependent Hospitals and Low-volume Adjustment programs, both set to expire on September 30.

Other key priorities include extending waivers for telehealth and hospital-at-home programs, also expiring at the end of September. The AHA is advocating for the continuation of enhanced premium tax credits that are due to lapse on December 31. The association also advised against adopting site-neutral payment proposals.
