A Brockton resident has been sentenced to eight years in federal prison for drug trafficking and firearm offenses. Zairi Andrade, also known as “Z-Money,” 19, received the sentence from U.S. District Judge Brian E. Murphy in Boston federal court. Following his release, Andrade will be subject to three years of supervised release.
In June 2025, Andrade pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, a fentanyl analogue, and cocaine, as well as possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
The charges stem from a December 3, 2024 search of four locations during an investigation into a Brockton-based drug trafficking organization. Authorities determined that Andrade’s bedroom served as a stash location for the group. Law enforcement recovered over two kilograms of fentanyl and nearly two kilograms of cocaine from the room. They also found a 9-millimeter Glock 17 handgun equipped with what appeared to be a machinegun conversion device, along with a laser sight and an extended magazine. Additional items seized included a 50-round drum-style magazine, another extended magazine, multiple rounds of ammunition, and equipment used for mixing and packaging narcotics.
Another individual involved in the case, Tavares, pleaded guilty in May 2025 to three counts related to distribution and possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and its analogue. Tavares is scheduled for sentencing on October 28, 2025.
