Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau met with Barbados Prime Minister Mia Mottley in New York during the 80th United Nations High Level Week. According to Principal Deputy Spokesperson Tommy Pigott, "The Deputy Secretary thanked Prime Minister Mottley for her strong support of the UN mission in Haiti and leadership in promoting regional stability."
During their meeting, Landau also "reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to working closely with Barbados to promote security and prosperity in the Caribbean."
The discussions took place on the sidelines of an important gathering where world leaders meet to address global challenges.
