Ernst recognizes Bannor Toys as Iowa small business of the week

U.S. Senator Joni Ernst, who serves as Chair of the Senate Small Business Committee, has named Bannor Toys of Boone County as her Small Business of the Week. This recognition is part of her ongoing effort during the 119th Congress to highlight a small business in each of Iowa’s 99 counties.

Bannor Toys was established in 2011 by Stacey and Jesse Bannor. The couple started the company after they became dissatisfied with the quality and complexity of available children’s toys. Their goal was to create high-quality, American-made wooden toys inspired by those they remembered from their own childhoods.

“Since 2011, Bannor Toys has been filling toy boxes all over the country with their modern take on nostalgic wooden toys,” said Chair Ernst. “From rattles that shake things up to blocks that help children stack up skills, their toys represent high quality American-made craftsmanship rooted in tradition.”

The company has grown from a personal project into a nationally recognized business. In 2019, Bannor Toys received an honor at the White House Made in America Showcase for its products and continues to focus on making toys that bring families together.

Chair Ernst plans to continue this weekly recognition throughout Iowa.
