Mark Robert Eury, a 54-year-old resident of Catawba, North Carolina, has been sentenced to 11 years in prison followed by five years of supervised release for methamphetamine trafficking and illegal firearm possession. The sentencing was announced by Russ Ferguson, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina.
Court documents state that Eury was previously convicted in April 2021 for Attempted Trafficking Methamphetamine in North Carolina and served a prison sentence before being released on state probation. On March 12, 2023, while still on probation, his premises were searched by North Carolina Probation and Parole officers with assistance from the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities discovered more than one and a half kilograms of methamphetamine, over 47 grams of cocaine, a loaded .38 caliber Taurus pistol with ammunition, more than $2,100 in cash, several sets of scales, and other drug paraphernalia.
Eury pleaded guilty on March 12, 2025 to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession of a firearm by a felon. He is currently in federal custody and will be transferred to the Federal Bureau of Prisons once a facility is designated.
Russ Ferguson expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office, and the Division of Community Supervision of the North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections.

This case falls under Operation Take Back America, an initiative that uses resources from the Department of Justice to address illegal immigration issues and combat violent crime through efforts like Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN).
