Nashville man pleads guilty to child exploitation; faces up to life sentence

Ladonta Glenn, a 31-year-old resident of Nashville, Tennessee, pleaded guilty to several child exploitation charges on Thursday. The charges include one count of sexual exploitation of a minor, one count of coercion and enticement of a minor to engage in unlawful sexual activity, and one count of coercion and enticement of a minor to travel interstate for unlawful sexual activity. The announcement was made by Acting United States Attorney Robert E. McGuire for the Middle District of Tennessee.

“We will do what it takes to protect children in our community from sexual predators who prowl social media looking for victims,” said Acting United States Attorney Robert E. McGuire. “I want to commend the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for their excellent work on this case. I also want to encourage all parents in our community to be aware of what your children are doing on social media, to know who they are talking to online, and to be aware that danger is lurking in every app.”

According to court documents, officers from the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department (MNPD) responded on August 1, 2024, to a tip about a missing 16-year-old girl at Glenn’s residence. Upon arrival, officers were let into the house by Glenn’s mother. Glenn initially denied knowing the girl but later admitted he had met her through Instagram and communicated with her via phone.

Glenn gave conflicting accounts regarding his relationship with the minor victim and how she arrived at his home. He claimed he was helping her as a friend after she had been kicked out by her boyfriend but acknowledged knowing she was 16 years old.

After being taken to MNPD Headquarters and waiving his Miranda rights, Glenn continued providing varying explanations about his involvement with the victim. He admitted receiving nude images from her via Instagram but stated he deleted them because possessing such material could result in legal consequences.

The investigation revealed that when officers found the girl at Glenn’s home, they noticed marks on her neck consistent with hickies. She told authorities that she believed Glenn was 15 years old and described their month-long relationship as romantic. During a forensic interview, she disclosed that they met through Instagram and exchanged regular communications before learning his true age. She reported sending sexually explicit videos to Glenn using her cell phone and said he paid for her bus ticket from Ohio to Nashville.

Upon arriving at Glenn’s residence, she stated that he immediately asked her for oral sex in the bathroom before engaging in vaginal intercourse with her.

A forensic search conducted by the FBI on August 27, 2024, uncovered multiple sexually explicit photos and videos of the minor victim stored in a hidden folder on Glenn’s phone. Investigators also found messages between Glenn and the victim discussing their relationship and sexual activities.

Glenn is scheduled for sentencing on February 2, 2026. He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of fifteen years up to life imprisonment.

The case was investigated by both the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Nashville Field Office and the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Monica R. Morrison is prosecuting.
