U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has opened a new Global Entry Enrollment Center at Charleston International Airport in South Carolina, expanding the Trusted Traveler Program in the Southeast region. This addition brings the total number of Global Entry Enrollment Centers operated by CBP in the Southeast to three.
Gregory Alveraz, CBP Atlanta Director of Field Operations, stated, "The demand for the Global Entry Trusted Traveler Program continues to grow. This new enrollment center in Charleston reflects CBP’s commitment to improving accessibility and convenience for travelers in the Southeast region. We are proud to offer this service to help streamline international travel for our Trusted Traveler members."
Applicants can now schedule their interviews at the Charleston location through the official TTP website. Walk-in appointments are not available; all interviews must be booked in advance. Those attending an interview are required to bring their current passport, driver’s license, and proof of residency.
Global Entry is designed for pre-approved, low-risk travelers seeking expedited clearance upon arrival in the United States. Applicants undergo comprehensive background checks and an in-person interview before being accepted into the program. Members benefit from reduced wait times and can use automated kiosks at select airports instead of traditional customs processing lines.
CBP describes itself as America's largest law enforcement organization with over 65,000 employees responsible for securing U.S. borders on land, air, and sea while facilitating lawful travel and trade.
