On September 30, 2025, the United States extended congratulations to the people of Palau on the occasion of their 31st anniversary of independence.
A statement from the U.S. Secretary of State recognized the ongoing partnership between the two countries. "The United States and Palau have worked together to ensure prosperity, peace, and security in the Indo-Pacific. Our decades-long partnership has been instrumental in managing regional and maritime security, while advancing economic development. Together, we have built a foundation of mutual respect and cooperation that will continue to grow in the years to come."
The message also acknowledged Palau's role in regional leadership and its alignment with shared priorities. "The United States appreciates Palau’s regional leadership and commitment to our shared priorities, and we look forward to continuing our long friendship," said the Secretary.
Best wishes were offered to all citizens of Palau as they mark this milestone.
