Robert Jameson, a 60-year-old resident of Washington, D.C., was sentenced to seven years in prison by the D.C. Superior Court for an armed robbery at a liquor store on Minnesota Avenue in Southeast Washington. The sentencing was announced by U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro.
Jameson pleaded guilty on March 26, 2025, to one count of armed robbery. Judge Robert Salerno ordered that Jameson's prison term be followed by five years of supervised release.
According to evidence presented by the government, the incident occurred around 6 p.m. on February 16, 2025. Jameson entered O’Connor’s Liquors, displayed a firearm at the store manager, and stole a box of Fireball shots along with several lottery tickets. He also tried but failed to take the cash register before fleeing on foot.
Police officers later found Jameson wearing clothing matching images from the store's surveillance cameras. A search of his residence led to the recovery of dozens of Fireball shots and an imitation firearm. Jameson was arrested on the same day as the robbery and has remained in custody since then.
Chief Pamela A. Smith of the Metropolitan Police Department joined U.S. Attorney Pirro in announcing the sentence.
U.S. Attorney Pirro stated: "In announcing the sentence, U.S. Attorney Pirro and Chief Smith commended the work of those who investigated the case from the Metropolitan Police Department. They also acknowledged the work of Assistant U.S. Attorney Jacob Green, who prosecuted the case."
