The Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) and the Space Industry Association of Australia (SIAA) have announced a renewed commitment to collaboration in the space sector. The two organizations, which serve as leading trade associations for their respective countries, aim to enhance cooperation by engaging with governments and promoting shared standards for global space activity.
The agreement is positioned within the broader alliance between Australia and the United States, focusing on building a secure and innovative space economy that is globally integrated. Both AIA and SIAA plan to support efforts in interoperability, responsible governance in space, resilient supply chains, and advanced technology development across civil, commercial, and national security domains.
Eric Fanning, President and CEO of AIA, stated: “AIA is committed to ensuring the space industry remains connected, informed, and aligned with national and international priorities. With our partners at SIAA, we’re helping shape the future of space exploration, science, and security through collaboration and leadership.”
Dan Lloyd, CEO of SIAA, said: “SIAA and AIA are natural partners, perfectly placed to accelerate partnerships between our space industries to drive innovation and strengthen our strategic capabilities. We are looking forward to driving and growing a robust space ecosystem, ultimately supporting a more resilient and secure Indo-Pacific region.”
To mark this partnership, AIA and SIAA hosted a networking event during the International Astronautical Congress week. The reception was organized in partnership with Norton Rose Fulbright—a foundation member of SIAA—and brought together stakeholders from government, industry sectors such as finance, design, engineering to discuss opportunities within the evolving global space economy.
