A recent set of national polls indicates that a majority of Americans support mass deportations of illegal immigrants, including those with criminal records. According to a Harvard/Harris poll conducted from October 1 to October 2, 56% of registered voters are in favor of deporting all illegal aliens, while 78% specifically support deporting those with criminal backgrounds. Similarly, a New York Times/Siena poll carried out between September 22 and September 27 found that 54% of registered voters back the idea of deporting immigrants living in the United States illegally.

Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin commented on the poll results: “President Trump and Secretary Noem are delivering on the American people’s mandate to deport illegal aliens, and the latest polls show that support for the America First agenda has not wavered. The American people, the law, and common sense are on our side, and we will not stop until law and order is restored after Biden’s open border chaos flooded our country with the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens. Law and order will win the day.”

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reports continued public backing for its officers and agents involved in deportation operations. This comes despite criticism from some media outlets and attacks targeting federal law enforcement personnel. In recent weeks, there have been reports of violence against federal officers by individuals described as Antifa-aligned radicals. DHS states that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has seen a significant increase in assaults against its personnel.

Federal officials also point to criticism from some politicians who oppose current enforcement measures. These officials claim such opposition has contributed to negative perceptions about law enforcement agencies like ICE, Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and DHS itself.

Despite these challenges, officials maintain that public opinion remains supportive of their mission to enforce immigration laws across communities in the United States.
