U.S. Senator Joni Ernst, who serves as Chair of the Senate Small Business Committee, has named LT Farms of Ringgold County as her Small Business of the Week. This recognition is part of Ernst's ongoing effort to highlight a small business in each of Iowa’s 99 counties during the 119th Congress.
"Since 2022, LT Farms has been mixing up the snack industry with their irre-zest-ible flavors and community spirit," said Chair Ernst. "This family-owned and -operated small business has quickly become a fan favorite across Iowa and beyond."
LT Farms was started by brothers Lane and Tyce Parish, then aged twelve and eight, with support from their parents, Lincoln and Shawna. The business began with the brothers selling eggs at a local farmers market before they expanded into selling their mother's snack mix recipe. The business now offers a range of flavors inspired by family members. LT Farms also participates in community activities, including giveaways, fundraising efforts, and event sponsorships. Recently, they donated 100 mini snack mix bags for the Mount Ayr School District’s Hall of Fame banquet.
Chair Ernst plans to continue her weekly recognition of Iowa small businesses throughout her tenure.
