Secretary of State Marco Rubio is scheduled to visit Israel from October 22 to 25. The purpose of the trip is to support the implementation of President Trump’s Comprehensive Plan to End the Conflict in Gaza, which has received significant backing from the international community. According to the U.S. Department of State, Rubio will use the visit to reaffirm the United States’ commitment to Israel’s security and meet with partners to further progress toward peace and integration in the Middle East.
Following his visit to Israel, Secretary Rubio will travel to Kuala Lumpur, Tokyo, and Gyeongju from October 26 to 30. In these locations, he will participate in the ASEAN Summits and related meetings, as well as the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Week. The focus of these engagements will be on promoting peace and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region.
