U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has reported several recent arrests in Virginia, targeting individuals accused of serious crimes such as child rape, murder, and gang activity. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) highlighted these enforcement actions as part of ongoing efforts to address crime linked to illegal immigration.

According to Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin, "These arrests of child rapists, murderers, and gang members in Virginia show the effects of the border crisis and sanctuary policies have extended well beyond border states. For far too long, weak politicians allowed millions of criminal illegal aliens to flood into our country and victimize innocent Americans. President Trump and Secretary Noem, delivered the most secure border in American history and unleashed ICE to arrest the worst of the worst to make America safe again."

In recent weeks, ICE arrested a person charged with child rape who had been released due to local sanctuary policies in Richmond. Another individual apprehended was described as one of El Salvador’s “Most Wanted” fugitives and an MS-13 gang leader wanted for murder. Additionally, ICE arrested a person in Virginia wanted for murder in Mexico. The agency also lodged arrest detainers for other individuals charged in a highway shooting in Virginia.

ICE stated that it continues its enforcement operations despite challenges such as the ongoing government shutdown. The department encouraged members of the public with information about criminal activity to contact the ICE Tip Line or submit information through an online form.

President Trump and Secretary Noem have expressed their commitment to preventing criminal aliens from remaining at large within U.S. communities.
