U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has arrested Carlos Ramirez-Guzman, a citizen of El Salvador, in Arlington, Virginia. ICE stated that Ramirez-Guzman has an extensive criminal record including charges such as aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on a law enforcement officer, domestic battery, exhibition of a dangerous weapon, resisting or obstructing an officer, disorderly conduct, and illegal re-entry after deportation.

According to ICE officials, Ramirez-Guzman was previously removed from the United States on three separate occasions: 2006, 2014, and 2016. The agency said he re-entered the country at an unknown date and location without inspection or approval from immigration authorities.

“Carlos Ramirez-Guzman racked up an extensive criminal history over the last 21 years he has spent ignoring America’s laws. Not only has this man been removed from our country on THREE previous occasions, but he also has a violent criminal history of assault with a deadly weapon on a law enforcement officer, domestic battery, and resisting arrest,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “Under President Trump and Secretary Noem, this criminal illegal alien’s crime spree has come to an end. GOOD RIDDANCE, you are not welcome in this country.”

ICE reported that Ramirez-Guzman will remain in custody pending removal proceedings.

The public is encouraged to report crimes or suspicious activity related to immigration violations by calling 866-DHS-2-ICE or submitting information through the online tip form.
