The White House has released a statement recognizing Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience Month, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding the nation’s systems and networks. The message underscores the role of critical infrastructure in supporting national security, economic stability, and public safety.
President Donald J. Trump stated, “Our Nation’s critical infrastructure is foundational to every American’s way of life—protecting our national security, facilitating our economic stability, and ensuring our public safety. During Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience Month, we recommit to making America’s systems and networks powerful, modern, and more resilient than ever before.”
He noted that upon returning to office he signed an Executive Order aimed at revitalizing American energy production to strengthen supply chains and the industrial base. According to President Trump, this move is intended to fortify critical infrastructure while also lowering costs and creating jobs for Americans.
The message highlights ongoing efforts to modernize both traditional infrastructure and digital systems. President Trump pointed out the significance of technological development in artificial intelligence (AI), describing it as a global race with implications for economic competitiveness and national security.
“My Administration is taking a whole-of-government approach to win the AI race by accelerating innovation, building AI infrastructure, and leading in international diplomacy and security,” President Trump said. He added that since his return to office, American AI companies have announced over $400 billion in new infrastructure investments—surpassing those made during the Apollo Program or Manhattan Project.
These investments include next-generation data centers as well as updates to electrical grids and communications networks. The First Lady has also been recognized for her support in preparing students and workers for advancements brought about by these technological changes.
The administration says it is working across sectors such as energy, transportation, communications, and defense to renew America’s critical assets. The president emphasized empowering state and local governments to make informed decisions on infrastructure projects that increase resilience while benefiting taxpayers.
President Trump concluded: “Through commonsense, risk-informed approaches we are building new infrastructure, modernizing existing systems, and driving innovations that protect our people, power our economy, and keep our Nation the most advanced, dependable, and resilient country in the world.”
