Secretary Rubio meets with Canadian foreign minister Anand at G7 to discuss security and Haiti

Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a meeting with Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs Anita Anand during the G7 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Ontario. The discussion focused on ongoing cooperation between the United States and Canada in areas such as transatlantic security, the Indo-Pacific region, and strengthening supply chains.

According to Principal Deputy Spokesperson Tommy Pigott, "Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs Anita Anand on the margins of the G7 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Ontario to discuss continued collaboration on transatlantic security, the Indo-Pacific, and reinforcing supply chains. Secretary Rubio also recognized Canada’s engagement in Haiti and discussed the advancement of the Gang Suppression Force for Haiti."

The two officials also addressed Canada's role in Haiti and efforts related to establishing and supporting the Gang Suppression Force for Haiti.
