LeFlore County man pleads guilty to aggravated sexual abuse on Choctaw Nation Reservation

A resident of LeFlore County, Oklahoma, has pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual abuse in Indian Country. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that Ronald Craig Summers, 34, from Spiro, entered his plea to a superseding indictment. The charge carries a possible sentence of 30 years to life in prison and a fine up to $250,000.

According to the indictment, between January 2024 and October 7, 2024, Summers knowingly engaged in a sexual act with a person under the age of 12. The offense took place in LeFlore County within the Choctaw Nation Reservation.

The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Human Services.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Jason A. Robertson accepted Summers’ plea and ordered a presentence investigation report. Sentencing will be determined by a U.S. District Court Judge after consideration of federal guidelines and statutory factors.

Summers remains in custody with the United States Marshals Service until sentencing. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Morgan Muzljakovich and Nicole Paladino prosecuted the case.
