The National Association of Realtors (NAR) has approved its 2026-2028 Strategic Plan, aiming to modernize the organization and enhance the experience for its members. The plan was unanimously adopted by NAR's Executive Committee and will be put into effect on January 1, 2026.

NAR CEO Nykia Wright stated, "NAR is rebuilding trust by executing the largest transformation in real estate history, and this Strategic Plan will be our roadmap. The plan is data-informed to ensure that NAR is investing in initiatives that members and the industry find most valuable. It also includes success metrics so our members and the industry can hold NAR accountable to the commitments we are making."

The three-year plan is based on input from more than 150,000 people across all levels of the association and industry. It identifies 24 initiatives designed to deliver value to members, partners, the real estate industry, and consumers.

For members, NAR aims to provide improved tools, training, and support to help REALTORS grow their businesses and serve clients effectively. For partners, the focus will be on collaborative programs and shared resources to strengthen REALTOR value within a healthy real estate ecosystem.

In terms of legal advocacy, NAR intends to advance protections that reflect REALTORS' priorities and promote a resilient industry. For consumers, efforts will concentrate on advocating for policies supporting property ownership at various government levels.

To modernize its operations, NAR plans to update financial and operational systems for more responsive support. The association also seeks to rebuild partnerships based on transparency and mutual goals while reinforcing ethical standards within the profession.

NAR describes itself as active in all areas of residential and commercial real estate. It highlights that "REALTOR" is a registered collective membership mark signifying adherence to a strict Code of Ethics. Free consumer guides about homebuying processes are available at facts.realtor.
